STREAMS WILL BE ADDED LATER STAY TUNED Fox Sports [ESP] Arsenal will face Barcelona in the Champions League Quarter Final where an interesting match awaits football fans from around the world. Arsenal fans can easily remember the 2006 Champions League Final where Arsenals goalkeeper, Jens Lehmann was sent off in just the 18th minute leaving Arsenal to play with ten men for the majority of the game.
Jens Lehmann became the first player ever to be sent of in the Champions League Final when he fouled Samuel Eto’o.
Arsenal have been performing very well in Europe this season and passed the Champions League Knockout Stage against Porto with a 5-0 victory.
Arsenal’s line up is weaker then Barcelona with the likes of Lionel Messi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic , Thierry Henry and Andres Iniesta driving much of the attacking force for last years European Champions.
Arsenal’s main inspiration a fellow Catalan and Barcelona youth player Fabregas will be the main inspiration for the young English side will have to show their worth against Europe’s best at the end of the month.
Another very important aspect to think about is the return of the legendary Arsenal player Thierry Henry who was the clubs most influential individual.
Arsenal’s former captain will return to the club that he played for eight seasons from 1999 to 2007.
Match Predictions who will progress Arsenals home record this season in the Champions League has been impeccable, conceding only 1 goal from there last four games while scoring 13 including the 5-0 hammering of Portuguese side Porto.
Barcelona’s away form this season has been mediocre with the Spanish giants only managing to pick up six points from their last four champions league away games.
For Arsenal to have any chance against the Spanish giants they must make sure they go to the Nou Camp without conceding any goals at home.
Barcelona have had a brilliant record in Europe this season and will be expected to score a few goals with such talented players as Messi and Ibrahimovic.
Arsene Wenger will have to do his homework very well as Barcelona looks favourites to progress. But be ready for surprises as Arsenal should never be undermined as history tells us, they can always pull the rabbit from the hat.
The mouth watering Champions League Quarter Final game between Arsenal Vs Barcelona will be played on Wednesday, 31st March.

José Mourinho says quarter-final visitors PFC CSKA Moskva will be tough to break down but is calling on FC Internazionale Milano fans to urge them to success like against Chelsea FC.
sopcast
José Mourinho is calling on FC Internazionale Milano fans to give the same "great support" in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final first leg against PFC CSKA Moskva as they did when beating Chelsea FC 2-1 in the last round. Mourinho is delighted with the Nerazzurri's run in Europe – if not at home – but while Leonid Slutsky says Inter are "clearly the favourites", the Portuguese knows CSKA have already overcome strong teams this season.
José Mourinho, Inter coach
Inter are having a great Champions League campaign, the best in many years, and we are determined to reach the semi-finals. We have played four games against two of the best teams in the world. In eight games in total we lost only once at Barcelona. The tie against Chelsea was fantastic and we did well when under pressure in the group stage. CSKA were also in a tough group which included Manchester United and then qualified for the quarter-finals by beating a quality team in Sevilla. We had great support from our fans at home against Chelsea and I expect the same against CSKA as it will be another difficult game.
CSKA were physically impressive when they played at United. Their season has just started but they don't need to run much with their playing style. Their players try to stay as close as possible to each other on the pitch, all their defenders and defensive midfielders are strong physically and then they have three players with great pace for counterattacks who help out in defence when needed. This is the reason why they play so well in away games.
Leonid Slutsky, CSKA coach
They are clearly the favourites, Inter are a great team and everybody thinks they are going to win. But tomorrow we will show we deserve to be here. We have not played that well lately though every team has highs and lows – I saw Inter playing against Catania and it was nothing like their performance against Chelsea, for example.
All the quarter-finalists are strong and everybody probably hoped to draw us. We will play our usual game tomorrow and see what happens. Both teams will try to win, so it's not going to be a boring game. [Inter] will not be thinking about their league problems and while they lost on Saturday they also hit the woodwork three times.

Happy As Underdogs
May 26, 1999 is a day writ large in the history of both Bayern Munich and Manchester United, though it is remembered very differently by both teams. That evening, at the Camp Nou in Barcelona, top level football would experience arguably its most dramatic finish, as the Red Devils struck twice in the closing seconds to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
FCB may have had the better of United since that night – eliminating the Red Devils in 2001 and then securing two draws in the second group stage of the following year’s competition – but defeat remains a painful wound that will be reopened once again in the build-up to Tuesday evening’s quarter-final first leg clash.
Louis van Gaal’s side go into the game as underdogs, having endured a somewhat tricky passage to this stage. Bayern have lived life on the edge, requiring a superb performance away to Juventus to guide them through the group stage at the last, and then a special strike from Arjen Robben to eliminate Fiorentina.
“If the press want to see them as favourites then that suits us because all the pressure will be on them,” Robben told the News of the World, pinpointing the unique threat that United will pose. “[Wayne] Rooney has been phenomenal this season. But at the moment he seems to be their only solution: what about if he doesn't function?
“They are almost a one-man team so our defenders will give him 180 minutes of non-stop distraction.”
It is the rearguard that is considered the chink in Bayern’s armour, with the weekend’s 2-1 reverse against Stuttgart their second domestic loss in three games. Given that Robben is also liable to be sidelined, there is plenty more than simply history for coach van Gaal to concern himself with.
Marching To Glory
Sir Alex Ferguson has a happy habit of getting his Manchester United side to peak as the season reaches its crescendo. If March is to be taken as evidence, those sides challenging the Red Devils for Champions League and Premier League glory better have taken note; as the Old Trafford club have been in commanding form over the last month, picking up five wins from five, scoring an aggregate 14-1 success against their opponents.
The next week promises to be a pivotal one in United’s season, however. Not only do they face Bayern Munich twice in the space of eight days, they will play Chelsea on Saturday lunchtime in what is a potentially season-defining game for both English titans.
To underline the difficulty of Tuesday’s task, the Red Devils have only beaten FCB once in seven meetings – the 1999 final – a statistic that surprised veteran Ryan Giggs.
“I am a little bit surprised about our overall record but it has always been tight,” he confessed to the press. “It is usually difficult against German sides, and against the top ones even more so.”
Nemanja Vidic is also taking a watchful approach going into the clash. “Bayern build things up well from the back and they have a few players with real quality on the ball – people like Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben,” he told his side’s official website.
“Like every team, Bayern have strengths and weaknesses. They’ll try to play to their strengths, while we’ll look to exploit their weaknesses. We’re going to Munich looking to win the game.”
United’s players certainly seem focused on the task at hand, and they will need to be in order to secure a result strong enough to guide them towards the semi-finals, where either Olympique Lyonnais or Girondins de Bordeaux lie in wait. goal.com sopcast
A one-of-a-kind battle for a Final Four spot starts in Barcelona on Tuesday when Regal FCB hosts archrival Real Madrid in Game 1 of the their best-of-five Quarterfinal Playoffs series. Barcelona won its Top 16 group and has the homecourt advantage in the series in addition to the best record in the 2009-10 Euroleague, 15-1. Madrid lost the chance to win its Top 16 group due to a home loss against Maccabi Electra, but has registered 4 road wins so far in this Euroleague season. The two teams have faced more than 200 times throughout the last six decades, turning this showdown into a Spanish superclassic. Barcelona has downed Madrid three times already this season, including the Spanish King's Cup title game and the Spanish Supercup final, and is unbeaten at Palau Blaugrana in all competition so far this season. Controlling the game rhythm will arguably be the biggest key to this game. Barcelona relies on playmakers Ricky Rubio and Victor Sada to play aggressive defense and keep their team playing up-tempo. Jaka Lakovic offers experience, shoting range and determination off the bench Madrid must slow down the game tempo and has the right man to do it in Pablo Prigioni. Sergio Llull will try to change the game rhythm with his explosiveness, unlimited shooting range and winning mentality. Madrid must be concerned with stopping Juan Carlos Navarro, a natural-born winner made for series like this. His one-on-one skills, ball handling and experience turn him into Barcelona's go-to guy. Navarro will get help from veteran bomber Gianluca Basile, team captain Roger Grimau and Pete Mickeal, a mismatch at small forward due to his athleticism, toughness and determination. Marko Jaric and Rimantas Kaukenas will have the tough mission to guard Mickeal, as well as trying to put him into trouble at the other end. Navarro will see playing time against Sergi Vidal and Llull. Meanwhile, Basile will test his shooting range against veteran bomber Louis Bullock. Madrid relies on Travis Hansen to offer intensity, defense and deep range at both wings. Barcelona must try to stop Jorge Garbajosa and Felipe Reyes, who are used to playing - and winning - games like this. Garbajosa will open the court with his shots from downtown, while Reyes will bang in the paint and power the offensive boards.
Darjus Lavrinovic will be a critical player in his game due to his size, timing and experience. Novica Velickovic and Ante Tomic round out a deep, interesting Madrid frontcourt in which any player can step up at any given time. Lavrinovic and Reyes will face a physical battle against Boni Ndong and Fran Vazquez. Garbajosa must use his experience against a more athletic player like Terence Morris. Meanwhile, Erazem Lorbek could make the difference against Tomic and Lavrinovic due to his post skills. Barcelona must be its usual self on defense, rely on an unbelievable basketball atmosphere at Palau Blaugrana and control the boards to get a 1-0 lead in the series. Madrid needs a good game from Prigioni and Reyes to steal a road win, as well as trying to use long possessions, being patient in offense. Expect an incredible game in Barcelona on Tuesday.

Olympique Lyonnaismust get the better of their in-form Ligue 1 rivalsFC Girondins de Bordeaux if they are to claim a first UEFA Champions League semi-final appearance in their fourth last-eight tie.
e UEFA Champions League has its first all-French encounter when Olympique Lyonnais and FC Girondins de Bordeaux square off in the quarter-finals. Bordeaux broke Lyon’s seven-year stranglehold at the top of Ligue 1 last season and are now aiming to destroy Les Gones’ dream of reaching a first UEFA Champions League semi-final. There will be cause for confidence in both camps going into this first leg: Lyon are unbeaten at home in the competition this season and defeated Real Madrid in the last round, while Bordeaux are the UEFA Champions League’s form team with seven successive victories. The teams have already met in Lyon in Ligue 1 this term, Marouane Chamakh’s 86th-minute header earning Bordeaux a 1-0 victory on 13 December. Bordeaux won the clubs’ first league meeting in Lyon by the same score on 11 February 1952. The pair’s overall head-to-head record in the French top flight could hardly be closer: Bordeaux have 32 wins and Lyon 31 with 26 draws. The record between them at the Stade de Gerland is 21 wins for Lyon, 12 for Bordeaux and 12 draws. Lyon’s most emphatic home victory against Bordeaux, a 5-1 win on 15 May 2005, secured a fourth successive league title. Cris and Sidney Govou both scored twice.
Lyon have a strong home record in this season’s UEFA Champions League. Including the 5-1 qualifying round win against RSC Anderlecht, they have collected four wins and a draw from five games. The Group E runners-up claimed the scalp of Real Madrid in the first knockout round by prevailing 1-0 at home, then drawing 1-1 in Spain. Lyon are seeking their first appearance in the last four of the UEFA Champions League having fallen at this hurdle three times previously – in 2003/04, 2004/05 and 2005/06. sopcast
Bordeaux’s UEFA Champions League away form has been impressive with three wins and a draw from four games. Indeed their overall efforts in reaching the quarter-finals have been eye-catching. From the group stage onwards, the French titleholders have won more matches (seven) than any other club and share with FC Barcelona the highest number of clean sheets (five). This is Bordeaux’s first quarter-final in Europe’s elite club competition since the 1980s. In 1984/85 they defeated FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk on penalties after a 2-2 aggregate draw to reach their only semi-final, where they suffered an overall 3-2 reverse against eventual champions Juventus. Les Girondins returned to the last eight in 1987/88, but went out on away goals after a 1-1 aggregate draw against a PSV Eindhoven side who went on to win the trophy. In the intervening years Bordeaux have contested three UEFA Cup quarter-finals, most recently in 2003/04 when again they lost to the winners that year, Valencia.
Lyon continue to languish in 5th place in Lique 1. Despite being just two points behind leaders Bordeaux, the title looks far from a possibility as the leaders have two games in hand over most of the chasing pack. Bordeaux’s real competition for domestic glory is more likely to come from Auxerre and Marseille, with the former 1 point behing but having played a game more and the latter three points off the pace, but having played the same number of games – 28. Lyon claimed their first win in five games over the weekend with a 2-0 defeat over local rivals Grenoble, who are incidentally also bottom of the league. Lyon rotated a number of players in their squad to keep them fresh for the midweek challenge that lay ahead. 19-year old Miralem Pjanić has been the star of the show for Lyon, having scored four goals in the Champions League, including the equalizer at Real last time out. The young midfielder is the joint highest scorer amongst players left in the competition. Lisandro is the club’s top scorer with 13 goals in all competitions, but just 1 in the Champions League thus far. The absence of French international Jean-Alain Boumsong, out with a calf strain since the 10th of March, will be a huge hole to fill in the heart of the Lyon defence.
Bordeaux’s form has been rather patchy too of late. They suffered massive disappointment over the weekend as they lost in the final of the League Cup to Marseille 3-1. Old boy Souleymane Diawara, part of last season’s title winning side at Bordeaux, opened the scoring for Marseille on the hour mark. A second from Valbuena in the 67th minute was followed by an own goal from Chalme, which put Marseille 3-0 to the good. Ludovic Sane scored a consolation goal, his first for Bordeaux, late in the game.  Like Lyon, Bordeaux went winless in four games this month, before defeating Lille 3-1 at home on 21st March. Marouane Chamakh is the club’s top scorer with 12 goals in all competitions and the young Moroccan who appears to be Premiership bound in the summer has the happy knack of scoring late goals.
Injury News:
Lyon: François Clerc (knee), Jean-Alain Boumsong (calf), Johan Hartock (Achilles).
Lyon (WLDDD) 06/03/10 League, US Boulogne (A) D 0-0 10/03/10 UCL, Real Madrid (A) D 1-1 Pjanić 75 13/03/10 League, AS Saint-Etienne (H) D 1-1 Lisandro 79 21/03/10 League, Olympique de Marseille (A) L 1-2 Gomis 79 27/03/10 League, Grenoble Foot 38 (H) W 2-0 Bastos 48, Delgado 90
Predictions: It is tough to pick a winner in this contest, but Bordeaux appear to be the better side of the two and should progress over the two legs. I’m going to stick my neck out and go for a scored draw at the Stade de Gerland.

In The Midst Of A Race sopcast
Sixth in La Primera Division going into the weekend’s action, the chances are that by the time Athletic Bilbao kick-off their round-concluding encounter against Racing Santander they will have tumbled a little down the standings. The European race is tightening, and los Leones are in the thick of the action.
A midweek defeat to Atletico Madrid certainly did not help the Basque side’s cause. Diego Forlan and Sergio Aguero put Joaquin Caparros’ side to the sword in midweek, opening the door for another team to potentially come in and sneak the final Europa League berth at the last.
There can be little doubt that Athletic are beginning to look over their shoulders as a clutch of teams begin to bottleneck just behind them. The Basques have reason to be worried as their own form has been disappointing of late, with only one win in their last five Liga games leaving them susceptible to attack from below.
Sevilla, Sporting de Gijon and Getafe have all drawn against los Leones, whose only victory since mid-February has come against relegation-threatened Valladolid. Goals have been in short supply too, with the club drawing a blank three times in their last five encounters, though their rearguard has managed to acquire as many clean sheets.
Caparros should have targeted three points from Sunday’s match to ease the club’s mounting worries.
Expecting A Bombardment
If it’s thrills and spills you want, don’t watch Racing Santander, who have turned into the 0-0 draw specialists of La Liga over the course of the last month. Miguel Angel Portugal’s side have gone unbeaten throughout March, though three of their four ties have ended goalless, with the other resulting in a fine 3-1 away win over Osasuna.
Such form appears likely to be enough for los Verdiblancos to avoid relegation. The bottom three sides were seven points behind Racing going into the weekend, though Tenerife’s Saturday point trimmed that margin slightly. Steadily picking up draws, Portugal’s side should be confident of beating the drop, but the manner in which they are playing is certainly not conducive to pulling away from the bottom three.
In their last seven games, los Racinguistas have been shut out a disappointing six times. Their defence has been steady enough, but it doesn’t make for pulsating viewing.
Athletic are not the most fluent side to watch by a long shot, and Portugal has admitted in the press that his men will struggle to match their hosts’ aerial presence. However, he has urged his defenders and midfield to be especially vigilant with regards to picking up the second ball, desiring them to be on their toes at all times.
Racing have tended to defend robustly, even when their offence has misfired, so they have been tough to beat under Portugal, who has overseen only six defeats in 18 matches. A profusion of draws has prevented los Verdiblancos pulling away from the red zone, though they’d probably accept a point here. goal.com
